TTS charged RS4, intermittent battery light

Howdy all

probably not many people with to much knowledge on this but today my battery light illuminated every 5 mins or so for about a second and went out... wasnt under hard throttle or anything.

i unloaded the alt so no lights or heaters etc and still did it, has anybody else experienced? could it be belt slip ? seems doubtful as the revs were not high or being driven hard , alt on way out? or maybe its a unknown feature of the supercharged cars haha..

Will talk with MRC this week i suppose

Just sounds like alternator is on its way out to me if you have a multi meter see if it's charging over 13.5v (about) then load alternator up turn lights on etc see if stays above 13v

What makes you think it's related to the charger?

nothing really only the belt that drives the charger i assume drives the altenator

I had similar on mine, flashed a few times.it then ate the belt whilst having a spirited drive which was scary.
Turned out the tensioner had a crack on the mounting point and was slipping, this then split and lost all tension , ate the belt into a million pieces .changed the lot and all good.
Take 2 mins to rule out, whip off the undertray and you can see if it may or may not be that.just a thought mate

To note id also noticed a little belt whine from cold,shortly before this started
