C5 gearbox / sale advise

Post by Fathand » Tue May 09, 2017 11:12 pm

Guys

Been a long time since I posted anything on here but I'm still the proud owner of a Black 2004 Cs saloon it's just I don't use it very much these days!

After a bit of advise gearbox wise, sometimes (not often) when I start it from cold & pull away she stays in one gear & won't change up but if I pull over & kill the ignition then start her again all seems fine. Am I looking at a simple electrical fault or something more sinister?

Looking to sell her shortly so could do with this sorted & also any tips you may have on where to advertise her & how much for?

112,00 miles. coil overs, belts, radiator, alternator etc etc all done within my ownership. Not looking for showroom money just want a realistic figure to move her on now.

Will post pictures shortly

Cheers

Should probably post this in the C5 section aswell.

Has it ever had the ATF changed? You really need to get it scanned for codes to get it diagnosed. Could be as simple as the loom in box or F125 switch, but obviously could be much worse.

Price wise they seem to be holding steady £9-12k or more for good ones. More for plusses. With a gearbox fault you could knock £3k off straight away unfortunately.
