Can recommend Federal RSR road legal track tyres too. :thumb:

Currently:

- Stage 1 map
- Ramair filter
- Decat (have the cat section too)
- Much of the interior in the bin (door cards still on, and dash/climate still operational (no radio)
- Safety devices half cage welded in
- Federal RSR tyres
- Grooved front discs, with carbotech XP10 pads
- DS2500 rear pads
- 40mm lowering springs (std shocks)
- Cobra Monaco buckets with 5 point harnesses

It drives like a luxury go kart! Stops surprisingly well, and I'm hoping with tighter handling will be good fun on track.

1781cc - Yep, thinking about ARB upgrades, cookbots/bushes, and then a good geometry setup.

I've seen mention of a front ARB delete as a handling mod!? Any info on this?

Not sure about the front ARB delete TBH. There is always much debate on Quattro cars for just upgrading the rear. That's all great if it's a small increase, but if you're going full aftermarket, I'd be doing front and rear. I've done that on all my S/RS cars bar the B7 (added SS+ to keep it a comfy road car) and there is good reason the suspension manufacturers do a front and rear package. I'd also add coilovers so you can adjust and can corner weight it when you do the geo.

Pleased you've got the tyres, they are great bang for buck and perform well once up to temp.

MadMax runs without any arbs in his 430hp TT roadster, his is the most extreme of the track TTs out there. ARBs can be good upgrades if you havent gone the full motorsport hog. If you are running standard suspension with springs I wouldn't delete the ARB. If you are running Gax Golds or Meister's/KW V3s then its worth considering. Plenty of things to do before you even consider getting that stuff done.

I am running FK Coilovers at the moment but will probably be going custom second half of the year so these might be available cheap when I do

I would recommend:
- Remove all the interior bits you don't need (FREE)
- Trim down and delete all the crap under the bonnet (FREE - SAI, EVAP, N112, etc...)
- Remove all the sound deadening if you have any left (FREE)
- Kill the counterweight, towing eye and so on from the rear (FREE and saves about 34kg)
- Get an odyssey PC680 and relocate it (it'll save a chunk of weight over the front axle
- Remove heating, aircon, loom, pipes, etc (FREE)
- Oil Cooler (essential)
- Hunter 4 wheel alignment (best to get adjustable tie bars for this)
- Superpro polybush around is a good idea as well (or Powerflex, etc)

You will find us all on the TT Forum in the Track & Motorsport section, have a good read through all the build threads, some of us have done similar things, some a little out there but a good place to track and learn as you go. We also have a register for days booked and stuff like that. VT runs a track day meet at Snetterton every year as well.

We have a thread called Church of the Lightweight which has weights listed for parts removed, its a good guide to follow

They're not as thick as the H&R bars. It's like putting the RS4 rear ARB on an s4. Makes a marked improvement, but still left wanting more.

Agreed - however for £30 the saving in £££ means you can also polybush that axle while you are in there

I was a Blyton on Sunday, good crack - nothing broke on the car, performed solidly all day - need more power now though...

Hope you got that sorted DK!

So I've got the first trackday booked in the Turbo Tin-can: 29/04 Bedford- Anyone around?

Car's going in to the garage next week for:

- R32 rear ARB (£25!)
- Haldex insert
- Cookbot bushes, and rear wishbone caster increase bushes

Also a couple of sensors throwing intermittent faults getting swapped over.

1781cc - thanks for the tip on the R32 ARB! Hopefully see you on track at some point
