how do i charge the battery

hi guys
not used the car for a while, hence flat battery, so i popped the bonnet, but i cant find the earth connection....any ideas, sozza to be so thick

I'm pretty sure from memory it's to the right of the battery as you look at it.

The Postive/Red connection is on the left

Or just clip the negative lead onto any metal part of the engine...

Sorry to drag up an old post.
Have seen people say in two posts to just connect the negative to any metal part. Really? Just any? What have people been connecting too? It freaks me out that there doesn't seem to be a negative connection under the bonnet.
If it's a tabby cat, I'm ok with that. If it's a bit leopardy, I could be in jeopardy!

There is a metal connector under the bonnet the same area that you place the positive to

Yes there is a bare piece of tubular metal to clip to.

ah yes the tubular thing, I did wonder if that would be a good point. I'll do that.
And I guess I there is the boot, but then theres that big warning cover telling you to use the under bonnet connectors.

I've had a battery conditioner connected to the battery in the boot for ages without any issues.

My battery is 11 years old now still the original and still running fine when the car is parked up for a length of time I disconnect it and charge it up now and again

after a night on the smart charger, its come back saying the battery is capput! :( how annoying, looks like its time to shell out £200 for a new one :(

I got the most expensive one from Euro Car Parts, Bosch one at £170-ish I think.
