Ha ha, that is brilliant. It looks like they copied the design from a fancy sideboard, or art deco roofline. Shame the exhaust missed the cut out.

Hi Guys

So I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to hunt down someone that can make a custom rear diffuser for the B7, and turns out we may have a forum member that can help.

TechNick is looking into the possibility of manufacturing a rear diffuser that would fit over the current one as an outer skin (as the bumper and diffuser are one piece).

If you're interested, please add your name to the poll on the link below so he can assess level of interest.

No problem, James. I've been following your B6 build thread with interest, BTW.
If you can bring a finished diffuser to the B7 community that quickly, then I'm sure it will be gratefully received by all those that have been patiently waiting.
As I understand it, labour rates in Dubai will be much more favourable than the UK/Germany as well.
I'll still continue with my development, but I guess there may even be an opportunity to collaborate (e.g. as a UK-based distributer or manufacturer). I've a spare RS4 bumper too :)

Update: :jump_clap:

Right... I was planning on a 'big reveal' at the next RS246 Boxhill Meet (18th March 2017), but figured you've already been plenty patient enough...

We're still in the process of preparing all of the marketing material (including the all important 'fitted' shots), but following are a couple of initial photos of the actual finished parts from Driving Passion Manufacturing Ltd.

As you can hopefully see, our design is for the 'embedded' style of diffuser, which appeared to be the one with the most interest (or else those that wanted the 'overlay' style simply purchased an MCarbon one instead! :D ).
This part is made entirely from real 2×2 twill weave carbon fibre, so is obviously both strong and lightweight (and doesn't look too bad either, IMO! ;) ).

Right, I have re-read this and I am very much a fan of the bespoke, cut in method. Yes it makes it a flaff if you somehow have to revert back to standard, but would look far better IMO as it would blend in to the entire bumper far better and look more OEM potentially, non?
Fitment involves cutting away a section of the existing valance (as previously discussed within this thread), but the end result should look more inkeeping with the styling of these beasts, with the 'fins' embedded and extending beneath the rear of the vehicle (rather than appearing 'stuck on' to the back!).
We've also taken onboard other feedback, including not making the top edge of the diffuser protrude excessively - again, to retain a level of subtlety that complements the existing styling. We've also been careful to retain the size and shape of the exhaust apertures, so that all existing exhausts still fit correctly and look the part!

Hope you like it and feel it worth the wait!

We're planning on sending out a mailshot shortly to all those that 'voted' for the part via our website with instructions on how to place 'early bird' orders ahead of general release. I'll share that information here also.

Apologies for the radio silence whilst all of this work was going on, but there's clearly been some competition building up since we first agreed to develop this part, as a result of this thread, so couldn't share too much along the way! :sekret:

In case you're not aware, we (Driving Passion Manufacturing Ltd) are a UK, VAT registered company (GB Company number : 10167057, VAT registration : 253402142), based in London, and run by established Audi enthusiasts.

I'm still hopeful we can act as distributors for James (iconic78) and also MCarbonParts, as a single UK-based 'one stop Shop' for *all* of the various parts.
We've been in discussion with all of the above (and beesheppy) for some time, to make this a reality.

Just follow the instructions here (and the first few preorders will also benefit from an introductory discount!) :jump_clap:

Initial deliveries should be in around 2 weeks, then we'll process them on a first-come-first-served basis as we produce them, so timings will be very dependant upon the size of the 'queue'! :)
There's some final work to be carried out over the next week or so (including creating the fitting instructions, etc.), but fitment involves cutting out some of the lower portion of the existing valance (to make room for the 'embedded' section), then bonding (glue / 3M tape / mastic) the part to the existing valance, and 3x screws beneath (reusing the existing OEM mounts).

I've added myself to the preorder list although the final price did come in substantially higher than the competition at £505.20. Looking forward to seeing fitted shots.

Thank you!
A lot of that will be down to good old HMRC! :(
One of the burdens of running a legitimate UK-based business, of course!
