Drivers side lower door trim

Post by TommyC » Wed Feb 01, 2017 8:58 pm

Car is going in for some paint next month so going to get a new drivers side lower door trim done as well. Attempted a clamp/glue fix but it's too far gone. Did a search on here and found the part number etc. Found this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A4-B6-B7 ... 1536734341

Part number seems correct, apart from a 'c' on the end, but they state not for rs4 in brackets next to compatible cars? :?

Is this the correct part and they are just misguided in thinking it won't fit the RS4, how is it price wise? Am I better off just going to Audi for the part?

Cheers

I'd go to your dealer directly...
I went through this last year and there's a few different versions of the trim (Standard B6/ Standard B7/S4/Sline etc).
The version you need is 8E0853960 - no 'C' on the end (I think). This is the version for standard B6 models and B7 RS4's.
The price is similar from a dealer as well - £120ish If I remember correctly.
Also, you can check its the same one while you're at the dealer so no problem returning it etc..

I've had the same trouble, been looking to get mine done too, but thought I'd try and get one from a breakers as I thought the RS4 and normal A4 were the same. I know the S4 has a ridiculous bulge in it and just looks stupid, so i've been hunting through breakers yards for a couple of months. When I asked on here previously nobody seemed to know the part number!

Problem I had was most breakers will not just sell you the bottom strip, they want to flog the whole door! I understand that approach, but then I stumbled across one which strips them off and sells them indiviually. Result! Or so I thought. lol.

It turns out the one I ordered had a slightly different profile, it's not a massive difference, but probably has a 5mm bulge on it compared to the flat RS4 ones. Luckily the breaker had the trims for the rest of the doors off the same car, so I bought all four to make sure they match. Was £90 for all 4 including delivery which I thought was decent as I was being quoted that much for a single door. They've turned up today so will try and get some pictures up later.

FYI - the breaker I used was these guys. https://store.prestigemotorservices.co. ... 26110.html
