Re: Alternator time
Fitted oilfilter, not sure whats handtight, 20nm is shown on the outside of the filter.
I tightened it with a tool, probably overtightened....?
Same with the drain plug (with New gasket), i havent got elsa with me, so i dont have a clue whats the spec nm.

Re: Alternator time
You should never tighten an oil filter with a tool. Hand tight is just as tight as you can do it by hand. That's probably around 20Nm.
It probably won't be a problem, just remember that when you come to change it next you might need a removal tool or to get medieval on it to get it loose.

Re: Alternator time
What nm do i have to use to refit the drain plug?
I might do the sportec mod while its out, as you can see, it already has some nice vent holes in it....

Re: Alternator time
Took it for a spin to see if there are Any leaks, all fine.
Reinstalled the undertray.
Driving home after work, After some kms the engine light appeared.
Could this be because i started the car for some seconds without fuse 32 to prime oil?
Or because the battery was disconnected during the alt stuff, or oil (and oilcooler) refill related?
Its driving fine.

Re: Alternator time
Oops. It was supposed to be fuse 29. Sorry. 29 doesn't give codes. Just clear the code with the Vagcom.

Good luck to the person who is removing your filter next time Mav if you tightened it with a tool!
Did you end up doing the Sportec mod too?

Re: Alternator time
No i had to use the 6 so had to hurry gettting it on the road again....
Will do it in the near future, its not that a big deal.
I Will clear the code, i think i could have removed fuse 29 and/or 32, both engine timing or ecu stuff i think.
No big deal.
but unfortunately havent got Vagcom at hand.

Re: Alternator time
Most MIL faults will disappear after a certain time of not being present. The fault code will still be there, though, as intermittent. Would be interesting to know what it is.

Yer, the brain is pretty good a getting on with it even after a shed load of errors. But Shopp's right - you really wanna do a reset.
