so I ended up refactoring a 450W amp with pioneer subwoofer (all off the shelf components, not much fabrication can be done in the middle of the desert where I live).
The good thing is that installation does not require any tricky cable routing or disassembly of any plastics - everything is in the back, easily accessible. I failed to fit the AMP
in-between the original ones (it didnt fit), but I found a place for it (not too elegant, but does the job).
Too big:
this guy made it right - I used his guidance - I tried even to plug into original harness, but with high input available in my amp, I simply used OEM's subwoofer connector as my sound source.

And I can remove it whenever I want to carry something really large in my trunk:
