They do a darker tint too.
Yeah liking that and nice motor Mike. I'll speak with Adi my wrap friend and see what he thinksMikeFish wrote:I was talking to my PPF guy about not being able to buy the pre cut stuff in the UK and he said he could try buying the rectangular sheets (which you can buy in the uk) and running it through his cutting machine as he does with normal PPF so that could be an option for you rather than import and possibly get hit with import duty.

These look very good options Trups. Is this done by you or a company you know? I see it refers to EM Tuning?Trups wrote:Doing Lamix x or tint spray will have a negative effect on output.
have a look at this test i did on a set of RS4 xenons last year, they where a forum members headlights

You can see Lamin x will restrict output, that's a generic phone app but you get the picture.
Here are paint work ideas -

https://www.instagram.com/p/BCxg-AzHVIb ... y=emtuning - these are satin black with the satin L8AU and dyed reflectors for the indicator and DRL to darken that down.
This is a S3 headlight, Gloss over Matte to give contrast - https://www.instagram.com/p/BH6axmxhjc- ... y=emtuning
OK I see so:Trups wrote:EM tuning is me, I do the strip down etc but have the local Body shop I use do the paint side of things for me.
I have some carbon overlayed trims too for right at the front
Thanks for the reccomendMB2 wrote:Hi Paddy, I can't help you with the costs but I can recommend Trups' work. He undertook a full HID conversion for my motorbike that was very tricky as the headlight was far too small and the standard of work was excellent.
Also look on the RS5/S5 forum as he did a great custom conversion on some headlights there.
I would suggest having them painted if you can as you have them out of the car so the perfect opportunity.
Thanks for the pics, this method does look good I must admit. I will probably buy another oem set and get them painted to match the wrap, with matte black and gloss black I reckon
TBH the best option would be to black the inside of the light and put a lighter smoke on the lens. I'll probably go down this rout in the summer when I have more time..as for the light output, I drive some dark lanes on my way to work in the morning and I'd say there is a slight difference but imho not enough to hamper night driving.leadfoot wrote:I have a blacked out car... and went Laminex on the fogs... it looked great... but light output was impacted so much.... I discarded the Laminex in under 15 minutes... Love the black... but love seeing at night even more... EMTuning is the way to go IMO!!
