I would suggest 1 as 2 doesn't have the cable cutout , plus doesn't look as of it has a thread sticking out of it.

2 holds the reg pack on, 1 is the output. I changed one last week on a golf diesel looks exactly the same. The small Phillips head screws were very tight but I was changing it in situ.

I would change them one by one. And torque the new ones up correctly.

Mavada, how are your oil cooler pipes looking (whilst you are around that area)? Trace them back to the front cooler as mine were corroded.

Some more questions regarding oil.
Do i have to fill the New oil filter for 2/3 with New oil before installing it?
Do i have to replace to old gasket/ring from the engineoil drain plug?

Cheers,

Mark

I don't prefill oil filter but I prime the engine on the starter motor. Fuse 32 29 will stop the engine starting.

I always replace the gasket and plug. At least replace the gasket.
