The Nurburgring is a legal toll road in German law. Every crash has to be reported to the Police and a statement made. There is normally a policeman resident at the ring. I have seen many statements made by crashed drivers. German road law applies, a driver should not overtake on the right, i.e. undertake. Many people ignore this but they are breaking the law. Things have got worse over the years as people ignore the law. There is always someone faster than you, but you should only give way when you feel it is safe and the other driver should respect this.
Having said all of this your UK insurance means sweat FA.
I've been for the last 14 years and most years twice a year. My advise is take it easy for the 1st couple of laps and push harder as your confidence grows. Never ever ever push hard when it is raining / wet as you can loose it on the straight and there is so much rubber etc on the track it will stop your brakes working too.
It is one of the last places in the world to rock up in what you brung, pay your money and off you go on the best race circuit in the world.
I love the place
