little upgrade for light switch

Post by docurley » Thu Dec 15, 2016 1:26 am

I thought i would see if there was a way to upgrade the light switch before doing all the window switches which i did in my old car and have to say i hate the bland look of just black. So i went on a a app called geek and bought a cheap light switch knowing the unit it self would not plug in to our loom but i wanted the knob. tripped the new unit down and with a little google search discovered they have the same fittings and 10 minutes later all was done.

Did you just upgrade the inner part (the moving part) or the whole outside ring aswell? Since i dont have the "auto" on my car, i have to manually turn the lights on and off each time i get into the car. This means my touch has over time scraped off abit of the paint on the switch. Actually have been thinking of this silver one aswell!

I bought a whole unit knowing it would not fit my loom but it was the knob I wanted (I've seen you can by the switch/knob and surround on it own).

Removed the ring so I could access the knob and used a small screw driver to get it off. Once off put ring back on and plugged the new knob on and done.

Getting it out of the car take two minutes and no need to remove dash, push in hard on 0 and turn right at the same time and pull.

I would imagine any of the VG group knobs in this style will work.
