Does the puncture sealer have a shelf life?

Post by matt-jones » Thu Dec 01, 2016 10:16 pm

Having just acquired a B7 RS4 I see there's a bottle of tyre sealer and a pump to deal with basic punctures, given it's probably the original one from '07 will it still be OK to use or do they have a shelf life and need replacing?

There should be an expiry date on it. If it is the original one then it is certainly past it's date. I couldn't tell you if it will still work though.

It should have an expiry date - from memory of my old B7, this was 5 years or so.
Prices vary to replace, but bear in mind exactly the same across the various VAG brands.

I wouldn't both with the tyre weld crap. I always carry this as my puncture solution.

Personally I'd rather use something supplied by Audi than a ten quid repair kit that's meant for off road use.
