Nige, you can advance your timing if you want to try it... send me a PM with your ECU part number and I'll tell you how...

MAF looks a bit low indeed, could it be a little bit duff??? Try unplugging it and see if the car runs better or not, it's the best test...

Cheers,

Mihnea

Minhea,

I've got SPS3 with REVO, so it's a peach to do it - not sure how far I can take it - what are the signs of going too far - timing cut? What might it look like if I log it again?

Thanks Nige.

Nige, the best way is to log block 020 and 021 and check for retarding. If you are getting more than 3 degrees, don't do anything to start with....

Cheers,

Mihnea

What do you mean when you said NA S4s have different gearing? I thought S4s where the same but rs4s have shorter 3rd and 4th.

Anyway, here are my best runs sofar in pretty cool weather.

fats 3,60 boost 1,5 1,2

393,43 6760 84,56 23,1 3,8

Then the best sofar, just for giggles. Dont run that much boost normally.

I have normal stg1 chip and MY 99/2 S4 so I cant really finetune timing. I tried to pull timing back all I could(ch 09) but it did not affect the CF's?

Just tried my first run with my completely standard S4... there was a very slight incline so will try another run sometime going the otherway.... see how much difference it makes....

That log looks ok for a standard S4 in summer.

Nope that is more or less spot on for a std S4. Just over seven secs.

Did a few more runs today and the best was just over 6 seconds. However the ambient temperature was about 27 and the car was already quite hot before I started. I was going to turn the aircon off but forgot :(

I suppose I need to do the test properly (straight road with no incline), but I guess the best time I can expect is about 5 and a half seconds.

Except for JonnyX I've got noone to compare to. Anyone else there with a chipped K03 car want to try?

Mihnea did a couple of logs for me last week right after the remap. I seem to remember the best one coming in around 5.4... but can't remember exactly.

Sorry Nige, I missed that.

OK, looks like I need to try again on a better road, and if I get 5.5 to 6 seconds I should be OK.

Did the test yesterday, 17 degrees C outside, and managed 5.92 sec with completly stock S4 Avant 2001. But I think the road was slightly downwards. Will have to find straight road and run again. Anyway, data from log-file, block 002

Highest maf 225.78 / 0.8 = 282 hp.
This can't be true?

been holding off in reporting my figures as I'd suspected something not 100% with my revo'd s4 with milltek + green panel filter. just had it services, its much quicker, so will report figures soon. will also report on before vs after figures, incase thats useful for others who get lower than expected figures.

Log boost and see if you are getting stock levels.

Could just be a strong standard car, or a chipped car not running as it should (i know you said is is standard but we come across chipped cars a lot - and the owner thinks it is stock)

my tests before I got the vacumm hoses replaced gave exactly the same results as this (220-230g/s maf readings)...thats with a remapped car.

will get to go out in it today or tomorrow to do some logging with the car running well.
