As said the wider wheel is more for looks, as they can tramline a little.
The other issue is the wider 10.5s look much nicer with the big concave but have issues with
front brake clearance.

If you like the vossen look then also check out ispiri wheels, they have wheels almost the same
and I can get them for half the price of vossen no problem.

The Vossen wheels look great but for the a one piece cast wheel the price is very high.

I sell many wheels so understand the building and making and design process.
They have just marketed them selves very well.

They come in with around 3 type of concaves like the isr8 and 4 colours like gunmetal bronze with satin and brushed
silvers and also do a 9" and 10" and 10.5 x 20 and its around £1200 ish delivered from me.
I'm actually getting a set for myself tomorrow.

Just worth a thought

Some good points made but the R8 runs a higher offset front at ET45 and rear is an 10.5 to 11.5 if needed and quite a skinny front rim also of around 8.5"

obviously for looks you can go wider but as mentioned dont go for stretched tyres as you will expose the rim and they will get damaged over time or worse
if you have an accident and the police start looking at the car - not good imho
