The R8 might have supercar aspirations but it's not a supercar. And the service, sales and aftersales is miles off supercar service.

Having driven old and new I can't say I've noticed much difference in the noise. Both have the V10 scream.

GTS is going to be better financially.

I bought my 911 991 GTS in January for £97k with 2k miles and just sold to a dealer for £90k with 9k miles who sold it on for £93k (was sale or return). Was great car and 7k for 8 months motoring in such an expensive car was quite reasonable IMHO.

911 values are beginning to soften but a GTS will always hold waaaaay more than an R8

I think Rob is right, the new R8+ sounds awesome straight from the factory, previous V10s did not.

When I test drove a GTS a year ago it felt slow after my R8. Much more of a difference than I expected. I ended up getting the RS6

That's 'cos it is slower. Dynamically superior to RS6 by a long shot mind!

Yes, maybe it's just the Plus version as that's what i have experience of. If anything, it's louder than the Huracan. For me, the old R8 V10 was far too sensible in comparison and would have never been on my radar.

For me there wasn't much if anything between old plus and new plus. Not that it matters mind.

+1 for Tootle, hadn't even heard of it until I read this thread a week ago and my B8 RS4 has just been collected at a price £3.5 higher than Audi offered and £4.5k higher than WeBuyAnyCar.
Service was exemplary and took away any of the concerns with selling private, tyre kickers etc.

Thanks to whoever mentioned it!

If you drive a 911 back to back with AMG GTS you will think the AMG is broken as the steering has zero feel. Most disappointing car I drove this year (after F type which has similar numb steering but also interior plastic quality from 1997).

It's a shame since both look great and are more interesting than a 911.

mostly yes, but optional spec dependant.

extended leather package, carbon trim, leather headlining etc ... make a difference.

much like a bog standard mk1 R8 vs. one with Extended leather, carbon trim, alcantara headlining ...

They are beautiful. Haven't seen one fully interior specced. Is there a steering option pack (dynamic whatever) that tightens things?
