Shouldn't sell a car that is not mechanically working properly. No one in they're right mind would spend that on an oem exhaust.
Did you question them about their lack of knowledge of they're product.. Master tech my arse....
Lol so true!

Well the selling dealer is accusing the servicing dealer of trying it on with me and make money out of me.

The servicing dealer is accusing the selling dealer of being incompetent when they did their health check on the car and have it a clean bill of health.

So I have 2 health checks by 2 different audi dealers, a month between them. Selling dealer isn't budging. Servicing dealer has also found another item (albeit not expensive at all) so they are sticking to the selling dealer missing this all.

So looks like if I want a good resolution, I'll need to take legal advice. Good thing, already spoken to CAB and it was very positive.

Just might mean a long drawn out saga.

Its good they are arguing between each other, this means its one of their problems/fault. What franchise is it? are they both the same? just fire an email off to the dealer principal of the company or both of the companies . This will get things moving. Don't forget to mention your first chat with them and how they seemed to have zero knowledge of how the cars basic features work...

Oh cheers!
I didn't think about contacting the dealer principal!

I think although the servicing dealer wasn't great. . I believe them about the seelling dealer because I know my cars exhaust flaps have always been open. So they've defo missed it.

I'm going to contact them again Monday morning and tel them what I'm going to do and then start sending emails everywhere Lol

My thoughts are, the dealer that sold you the car is where you should concentrate your efforts as the health check was not directly commissioned by you. You bought it in good faith from a reputable dealer and no doubt payed a premium for the privilege. Tell them to dig into the mark up.... :audibash:

What mod do they think knit has that requires a new exhaust? Someone welded the flaps open? Why would you weld them instead of just disconnecting? Or are they talking out of their arse and just seized?
If it bothered you and didn't want the fight you can pick up a 2nd hand exhaust for £100 or less.

Yep agreed.
I'm going to be chasing the selling dealer. They are ultimately the only ones responsible for picking cost to replace faulty parts, especially pre existing ones Lol

I saw the video clip they sent.
Looks like someone has disconnected the pipes and used black tape to hold things in place.

They think that whoever did that, probably did it to hide a faulty actuator or something (going to need to watch that video clip they sent again! ) lol

Without reading all again, are you saying the vacuum pipes were disconnected when you sent the car in?

Cool so now you just re-Installed and lubed up moving parts with 5-56 or WB-40, right? And back on for no cash.

Are they saying they reconnected them and they still don't work?

Yep. ..
So the vacuum lines had been disconnected from the actuators and they'd been plugged in.

The dealer did a diagnostics and no fault codes / errors were found.

They've left everything as it is. I've now got to resolve this but I am wondering if it's worth the hassle now.

Resolve is easy, just plug the hoses back onto valves. But if they are blocked properly I'd leave them as they are.

Ah ok, seriously considering that as I'm feeling if nothings wrong i should leave as is. Would the diagnostic shown up any error if they were blocked?

No errors for exhaust valves on the B7.
