We've all done that. Still pains me getting kicked to the curb by sub 200bhp cars round Nordschleife when i'm in cars with at least doubt if not triple those power levels. Track knowledge is the biggest factor, huge vegetables next, followed by an accomplished vehicle/driver.IanH755 wrote:Different driver skill/ability/balls plays a huge part in "non-professional" lap times so I rarely take much notice of them. It's the properly timed stuff like the links above that give a better indication of overall track performance. However it's always fun to shoot past a car on the track which "should" be much faster than you, or alternatively, hang on the back of car which "should" be able to handle better than you
That said, it's annoying for others & i've done it, getting battered in/out of the corners by the Caterfield & Clio brigade & then as the tarmac straightens out just breezing past like they've stalled, only for the same thing to happen at the next set of twisties. One of the reasons Phil & I joined the Clio Cup brigade, as we may not be the fastest out on track, but oh boy are we having fun.
