It happened for that guy in Birmingham on the other thread. There's someone who can tell us how far you can push an RS6 on the public road.

I'm guessing the answer will be something along the lines of "not over a kerb at 60mph".

Curious to know more about this? Where, when & in what?

By my experience, you'd have to have Lewis driving the road car & me driving the Turbo or GT3 to post a genuine faster time in the road car, (I accept slight exaggeration in my detail above but you get the point).

The Pork i hazard a guess were not well driven, as without a large delta in driver ability the RS6 (or any other car in that same class) wouldn't see where a GT3 went (unless it was an old or poorly GT3).

What's 71kgf?

Agreed. There's no way an RS6 could keep pace with GT3 or TT(S).

Here in brazil, we have a program like top gear with ex formula 1, rubens barrichello. Every week he does a qualifyblap with a different car. Here are the top ten

Here's Rubens in the RS6:

and the Porsche:

god knows what they are saying but it looks like they are impressed with the car. however, the circuit is short and also seems fairly open and flowing which would suit the C7 over other tracks, hence the times are a bit closer than at first thought. But the 911 is 3.5 secs quicker not 0.5sec slower... maybe in average joe's hands the cars might be closer in track times.

Interesting times, but no mention of a GT3 on that list & the RS6 is shown as over 3 seconds slower than the Porsche Turbo (appears to not be an S) on what appears to be a very short track.

The Audi TTS time stands out as unusual, but i guess all cars are not run in the same conditions.

Regardless, the RS6 (was it a PE?) faired extremely well.

Had a play in one at Bedford last week & it was mucho fun, which is more than i can say for the RS3 & RSQ3.

I said i was quicker than a 911 and gt3 in a trackday in my city. Of course the car is important so as the driver. And one thing is drive in a straight line, other is a circuit.

Having had both GT3 and C7 I can vouch for the former being significantly quicker around normal circuits - but to get the most out of a GT3 (at least all but the last version) you need to be practised. They can be a handful and, like all 911s, need a different driving style to front engined cars. Whereas the C7 is very much point, squirt and hang on - it is surprisingly good though (with DRC - obviously ;) )

Whilst i agree with the straight line point, this is my curiosity as to get a C7 RS6 round a track as quickly as a 911 Turbo or GT3, a large delta in driving ability bust be present as not a chance with comparable drivers the lap times would be that close.

Different driver skill/ability/balls plays a huge part in "non-professional" lap times so I rarely take much notice of them. It's the properly timed stuff like the links above that give a better indication of overall track performance. However it's always fun to shoot past a car on the track which "should" be much faster than you, or alternatively, hang on the back of car which "should" be able to handle better than you :D
