Yeah that was me, cheers. I was surprised how much difference it made. Reminds me of when I drilled the airbox on my 1.1 Fiesta! Lol

You were a long way from home weren't you? David Lloyd mini meet? :biggrin3:

Yea I was at a site meeting, we are refurbishing the club room and gym shortly.

Bit of a coincidence as when I went on here tonight your post/car was the first one I read, recognised it straight away

Do you work there or just a member? Seeing your today made me think I need mine detailed badly

Once I get stage 2 finished that is.

I'm a member there.

I try to keep it clean and it's definitely got better since I bought it. Thinking about getting a DA polisher soon to go over it as its only got some minor swirling.

I am currently trying to plan mods for mine, thinking, carbon clean (its on 43k now and not been done before), gutted pre-cats and stage 2 map to go with the CAF already fitted. Does that sound about right, then just add an exhaust for sound purposes later on, JCWeldFab seems to be the weapon of choice. Heard one today and it sounded epic!

Great looking car - gave me some inspiration for my sprint blue saloon.

Can someone point me in the direction of a CAF mod guide or step by step? I've had the bumper off a few times so that's no prob, it's just the parts needed and how to remove the aux rad without dumping the coolant!

Thanks Coldo :beerchug:

I followed this guide in the FAQ's http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?t=98322, removing the bumper is the hardest part.

And I ordered this kit from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Revotec-89mm- ... 460863d8ba

J1sgo, just realised you wrote that guide! Good work, wouldn't have fancied it without that step by step.

Mine has seen nothing more than an elbow grease t-cut & polishing in my 3 years of ownership  and that's only twice

That's the mods list I am doing now minus the exhaust as I like the standard sound and I think gutting the cats further enhances this.

:beerchug: I wish I had my guide when installing CAF too :biggrin2:

Wow, been a while since I updated this thread.

Haven't been on here that much recently but still loving the car, my routine is pretty much Drive>clean>admire...repeat, done 52k now.

After threatening for a while I have dropped the car at MRC today, sitting on train home now.

Work being done is:
Health check
Full Carbon clean
Pre-cat delete
Hi-flow filter
Stg2 manifold
Stg2 map

Buzzing right now, I can see this week dragging as I sit by the phone waiting for them to call to say it's ready :jump:

Couple of recent(ish) pics, oh yeah I had the trim by the boot painted like the optics cars too...

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the car when you get it back. I'm planning the exact same list of work. Can I ask how much the total is going to be? I assume they'll let you save a few quid with stage 2 manifold seeing as it will be off for the CC.

Picked the car up on Friday and I'm really pleased with the work done by MRC. Car feels so much more responsive now.

Definitely more noise when you give it some beans with the pre-cats removed, exactly what I was hoping for.

Pre cc it made 395PS so a pretty decent base with no issues.

Post full cc, hi-flow filter, Stg 2 inlet, Stg 2 map and pre-cat delete (CAF already fitted) it made 437PS and 462NM. ~10% increase not to be sniffed at :biggrin3:

Prices were as stated on their website, all that work for £2.7k, turned around in 4 days.

Seeing as the inside of the engine is nice and clean (for now  ) I decided to give the engine bay a tidy up...

image.jpeg
Came up pretty well. New R8 oil cap and 911 coolant cap too...new coolant tank to come.

image.jpeg
Replaced this too as the spring had detached on mine...
image.jpeg
Also got the latest maps with 7 digit postcodes and speed camera data from eBay, big improvement on the old software!

Thanks for looking
