Car dead
Re: Car dead
I've tried burning the files onto CDs but I'm either getting; CD cannot be read or cannot find metainfo file.
I'm burning them at the lowest speed and I've tried leaving them as .iso files but it's just not playing ball.
It does seem that I get further into the process by using CD-R discs rather than CD-RW.
Bl00dy pain.

Re: Car dead
My daily commute is 3 miles. When I had an RS6 I was having battery problems all the time.
In the end I invested in 3 things.
1) VCDS
2) New battery
3) CTek
Basically once the batter drops below safe limit it will stick at that level even if you leave it on charge forever. You have to use VCDS to clear the code.
Then all the interior lights come back on and the battery suddenly goes from 10% to 100%...
You also need to recode the battery when you change it.
In the end to save all the faff I just put it on charge every night and it was always fine. PITA but the only way to solve it.

Re: Car dead
I was lucky and didn't need to recode it. The battery was pretty much identical to the one I removed so that may have had something to do with it.
Thanks for the info though.

Are your interior lights working?

Everything seems to be working as it should with the new battery.GC1978 wrote:Are your interior lights working?

I thought I'd read you can also check the oil level through the MMI?
Another question that's slightly off topic but when updating the MMI software, do you need to unpack the iso files so the folders are all shown?
Are you on 2gmmi? i have the 3gmmi sd cards and instructions if you need them?

Re: Car dead
Yup, 2G MMI unfortunately but I've just upgraded to 5570.
I can't update to 3G without changing all the hardware can I??
