If you have a VAG-Com cable, do the mod the MMI to add in the battery gauge as well .. useful for keeping an eye on the state of your battery

Battery status when I was driving a week or so ago showed the battery status as 100%.

SHE'S ALIVE!!!!

Just need to keep an eye on the battery's voltage now to ensure it doesn't drop too much.

By the way, it's an absolute ballache having to climb through the front into the boot and installing it from there.

Yup mine ran out of puff fitting Trups light kit. I did have the radio on to hide my swearing as the puddle light connectors disappeared into the door never to be seen again. New battery sorted everything out

It was totally dynamic in Redhill roughly £400 for roof bars window surrounds door handles and front grille

I followed these instructions to get the battery charge level on the MMI and it worked fine:

I also enabled the oil level indicator using the same method but whilst it shows on the MMI it doesn't work so no idea how to set that up.

Yeah it's easy enough to enable but mine was reading 100% a few days before it decided to pack it's bags!

Once the engine is upto temp (95'c+) and you're on level ground, switch off the engine and check the dipstick about 1 minute later.

Thanks Ian. I didn't even know where the dipstick was until I used my nugget.
I thought I'd read you can also check the oil level through the MMI?

Another question that's slightly off topic but when updating the MMI software, do you need to unpack the iso files so the folders are all shown?

I've not updated mine using a USB cable, I put the CD's in the CD changer and let the MMi update itself and then ran out of battery juice and had MRC do it instead (took 3+ hours!).
