No probs Paul - you decided on a system for yours? If not, the JCWF for the B8 must be close to being ready for release by now?

Good to meet you yesterday Ilya. looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. Seems you have the modifying bug too.

Lets just hope I survive till the next birthday!! If you don't hear from me again, it was nice knowing you all.

In all seriousness though - I'm not expecting wife or kids to mind, as it isn't bonkers loud unless the valves are open. With valves closed, I'm not expecting any complaints.

They haven't actually been in it yet though, so I'll report back.

It's all your fault Neil!

That passenger ride last summer at the Boxhill meet sealed the deal!

I've made a vid, which is below. Doesn't do the exhaust justice though. I'm posting it here, as ever, to have a record of all my progress in this thread, but I've also created a separate topic on the vid - as the exhaust definitely deserves a thread all to itself.

If I hadn't spent so much on exhasuts in the past and wasn't so happy with current set-up then this is defo the route I'd take. Even with price and quality put aside, the sound alone is stunning.

Well it's been a long week, but the wait was worth it...car back from KDS detailing!

I'm told I was very fortunate that they were so busy that Mr KDS himself, Kelly, was drafted in to polish my car.

Gold paint correction (to remove those pollen etching marks mentioned earlier in the thread), plus reapplication of GTechniq crystal serum and EXO. I had a few emails with Rob at GTechniq, and he suggested I try their latest formulation of EXO which is supposed to be more durable and less prone to water spotting.

The car looked incredible under their spotlights!

I'd apologise for all the pics, but who am I kidding, I'm not even sorry haha...thrilled with the results. Pollen marks gone, and the car looks better than I could imagine a 9 year old nearly 100k motor could look.

:biggrin3:

Looking great, to be honest the paintwork was in fine fettle before hand 8)

Will be interested to see what you think of the Crystal Serum, is it the full version or light one that's been applied to the car?

Precisely £1arm&1leg! GTechniq contributed, which helped soften the blow

It was a gold paint correction, plus GTechniq upgrade. They had the car for 9 days in all, but i don't think they were able to start work on it immediately as they're so busy.

Have a look at some of their threads on detailing world (e.g. veyron detail), and vids on youtube (e.g. M3 wet sand)...their work is really top notch.

Make sure you put some pics up mate! Want to see that

Cheers Sam. It was and it wasn't; in certain lights, the pollen marks became really obvious and unsightly, and was really bugging me. At the boxhill day for example, they weren't that obvious as the sun was out. Anyway, all sorted now.

It's the full fat crystal serum, and 2 coats of the new EXO. So I guess it's the EXO that's actually the functional surface for the 18months or so it is supposed to last. I've ordered a load of gtechniq cleaning gear too, and am expecting washing the car to be a pleasure!

I left one thing out. No update on my car would be complete without a reaction from the long suffering Mrs Javaid:

"It doesn't look any different. It's still sh!t."

:?

She's just jealous.
