Just watched extra gear. It wasn't bad! It wasn't good... But I finally get the Chris Harris thing! I've always though he was a <beep> before, but actually he's the most honest and watchable person there!

Who goes to the Nurburgring and then doesn't do a lap!!!

Just watched episode 2.

Too much focus on the celebrities. I want to know more about the cars - full spec's, drag races, real head-to-heads with other supercars, not simply blatting up and down an airfield for 5 minutes or turning the tires into smoke. Jensen.

Re the SUV group test that made up 80% of the show - no mention of each car's power/torque/weight/handling ability/interior functionality/build quality etc. Recent road test in CAR magazine of the F-Pace told me everything I needed to know about it.

Also, they should review cars that regular people can afford to buy. There's just not enough variety. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be entertaining but it's a car program. They seems to be almost incidental.

It may not be broken according to Evans, but the old format was designed around Clarkson and the others. Yes, it was getting tired and needed a new direction but all they've done is simply slot Evans and Leblanc into the same style of program.

And where's Chris Harris??

I'd rather watch car stuff on YouTube..

Just like last week - Extra Gear is a (slightly) better watch. Still no Harris though - about two minutes of him talking doesn't count.

Agreed - I thought it was slightly better. Still too long spent on the guest lap segment, too much Chris Fu**ing Evans, and under utilising their best talent - No Sabine at all, and Harris only briefly in the ExtraGear show?

If you're going to the filming, would be interesting to find out if the online rumour about them using canned laughter is true? Allegedly, the live audience aren't finding the jokes funny! I can't understand why...

I've finally got round to watching the first one, I didn't think it was that bad. Yes it's the same as before, it's Top Gear after all. Chris Evans was just being Chris Evans, he's not copying Jezza.
If they'd have completely changed it, people would have moaned about it not being Top Gear any more.
