Tbf whilst I worked at Birmingham Sextons we were fitting them by the truck loads. The best were infinity ones. I saw so many Saxos, Corsas, Golfs, 106s I was having nightmares. The Maxpower days kept us in work for quite a long time. I sort of miss those days.

Gaz
Ita getting dark so I took a couple of photos on my phone with the flash to see if there was any visible difference in the pearlescence.
In both photos below the panel on the left is the unprotected door and the panel on the right is the protected wing.
If I take the photo with the flash closest to the door you can see the Pearl effect on only the door. But if I take the photo with the flash closest to the wing then the pearl effect can be seen on the wing only.

Hi Mike,

Hope you don't mind me asking, but which panels did you have the protection film added to and what sort of money was it?

Si, I had the front bumper, front wings, bonnet, Wing mirrors, headlights, front splitter, front flaps and Grill surround all protected. This was £750 but the car also had a new car detail and full gtechniq protection applied at the same time so there was no cleaning or prep work required by the protection guy. I also paid another £20 for a strip along the top of the rear bumper.
He used a mixture of 3M and suntek film as one 1 of them is better for contoured areas like the bumper but the other gives a better shine for flat areas like the wings and bonnet. Also a slight difference in the self healing abilities.

And as I stated a few posts ago I think, I am going back for door protection and underside of door handles.
The door film is mainly to try and prevent damage from idiots in car parks rather than stone chips.

I know. I don't want to get rid of all the titan though. I have a carbon front splitter to try out.

That gradient is getting steeper.

I'm thinking carbon splitter & mirrors, then keep the Titan for everything else. I wish Titan was available for the B8.

That's the plan at the moment. As much as I love titan I feel I must have a little carbon too. I conscious of creating too many different colours on the car with black, titan and caron and the lighter parts of the wheels. I don't want it looking too busy.
and I don't think I want the murdered look either. I think many of the nice features like the splitter and flaps etc will get completely lost in all black on a black car.

I can see why. The titan has really grown on me.
No reason why you can't spray the trim titan. I think the RS6 titan trim is all painted anyway.

Nigel, I got them from ebay. They were used but no marks on them. There are other ones on there too. The cheapest ones at the moment are about £800 but in America so liable to VAT and import duty.
They are pretty easy to change but can be a little fiddly. The 1st one took me about 20 mins but the 2nd one 1⃣️ took much longer. Once I realised that I had the tab behind instead of in front it then took just a few minutes to do. I bought some small section lifters to remove the glass easily.
If you have side asisst be careful. As I pushed the light unit out it went flying out of my hands and hit the tiled floor. It looked like it had an internal chip of the black plastic. Hard to see but annoying. Then when I tested it all in the car it didn't flash and I got an error warning on the dash. Ive ordered a new one form audi though (£56). I made a note of the part number before putting it all back together because I was going to replace it for the small chip anyway.
