true value please - low mile B7 avant

Post by vroomvroom » Tue May 31, 2016 1:14 pm

Apologies for the what’s it worth post.....

I could do with a real world guide (not ambitious advertised prices)

Ive been offered a B7 57 plate Avant (from a friend in the trade) , full Audi history with sub 30k miles (dark grey), zero previous owners

I know little or nothing about the condition or spec (the full history and low owners should be a good proxy but clearly says nothing about FB steering wheel or buckets etc)

I can have it for very very early £20's K

Im really keen to get one (I've had two B8s but not a B7)

Problem is unless its a cracking deal, I will have a shed load of explaining to do to the wife (we already have a 16 plate RRS, 62 plate Cayenne and a 63 plate 12c spyder) she has her eye on a new kitchen, which I keep clamming we cant afford

How could you ever need a RRS AND a Cayenne?!?
Sell one of the SUVs and buy the B7, stuff money difference into your hoe's kitchen.
No matter where you go, there you are.

With that mileage if it's got FBSW, buckets, recalls done and a decent service history and a few interim oil changes in 9 years.

I'd say it's worth 25-26k depending on bodywork condition.

Impossible to know exactly what it's worth without knowing the spec, maintenance history and condition.

Can't you get a bit more info out of your friend?

If you've owned an RS4 already and are on the forum, you may already know about all the common B7 issues; but for arguments sake, lets say this car needs new discs, oil cooler, a carbon clean, aux radiator, DRC repair etc etc...it wouldn't look so good! Nothing about mileage or owners would give me any comfort that those jobs don't need doing.

That's before we talk about spec too.

Ditto what bam says though - why 2x SUVs?

Funnily enough, a new kitchen preceded my B7 purchase too. I think that's the going rate.

Car's probably worth early £20k with that mileage depending on spec. Shame it's not Sprint Blue - it's the fastest colour ;)
'13 Audi A4 Allroad - White (loaded)
'06 Audi RS4 - Sprint Blue (Non-res Milltek, valved)
'04 Lotus Elise 111R (Aubergine NOT purple) - will sell in the spring http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez4KN_l7 ... SVUBYBWtEA
'56 ST220 (Sold)
'97 ST24 (Sold - loved lots)

thanks for all the replies big range from early £20k to £27k....

work has been chaotic today - so not managed to get any more info
car is being PX'ed against a new car (non Audi) and then traded on - so if I want it I need to act quickly - no time for inspection (or even to view - 250 miles away)

Assuming it has decent spec, I might buy it - all the issues/ problems can be fixed and at the end still have a low mileage/good spec and low owner car,
if spec is poverty then I will not progress.

ending up with two SUV's is a long story - I planed to sell the Cayenne - but it is such a lovely car - the RRS is "company car" that I change every 6 months...so soon back to one SUV family ...depending on what I get next.

No way can I let one single penny go to a new Kitchen

Buy it, it will be retailed at c.£30k with less than 30k miles and only one owner. Have a look at it, but it and sell it I if you don't get on with it.

I think that one was the Millennium Heros car + about £5k on the screen price?

John would know as they sourced his Daytona car about the same time, it looked ropey for the mileage with their high quality pictures.

Seems a good price, which then sets off alarm bells, why is it being traded in for that price if the buyer could potentially fetch 5k more? unless to the seller money is no object...
