19" Wheel

Post by Mɐʇʇ » Mon May 02, 2016 4:44 pm

Does anyone know where I can get 1x replacement 19" wheel?

Pulled all my tyres off to replace them, lose the DRC and switch to Konis & refurb the rims - but found one of them is cracked. No genuine ones on ebay that I can see. :(

If you have no joy finding a replacement wheel, might be worth checking this company out, and I'm sure there are plenty of other companies out there who could do this also...

I've put in for a quote with lepsons, which I'll do if I need to. If poss, would like an uncracked (even if in need of a refurb) one though.

Bit of a pain in the arse, was all revved up to just get em shotblasted & powder coated to get em like new again.

On the flip side, if ever I decide to sell it, I can show that every single thing on the car is perfect and done exactly the "right" way - the tyres were all legal but 3 different brands, 2 of which were hideous cheap <beep>, which I consider a poor show on these.

I'm in the same boat just now. cheapest ive found a single is for roughly £500-600.

finding a replacement is a nightmare.

If you did buy and split what would you want for a wheel. Might be interested if you wanted to shift the others, I don't need one but always looking for a spare but as you say they seem silly money at times

OK - I'm talking to a guy about a set at the moment. The last set I can see on ebay went for 650ish:

This ain't business for me, it's a hobby, so I'll go for a straight split of costs + shipping if that works for you guys too.

I got quoted £650 for the set with tyres. but I dont need the tyres plus they add to the shipping costs so just want the wheels and trying to get them cheaper.

Splitting the set into 4 makes it about £162 per wheel...plus the postage fee . Not cheap but better than £650 for a single wheel .

I'm still waiting on a reply from Lepsons, but in principle I'll go with your proposal to buy 4 and split em.

This guy. The 1 sold is me. There was a lead time on getting them, too - Koni were out of stock.

Finally a reply from The seller (AP autotech)....

Won't remove tyres. Wants £ 55 to ship to me and when I asked if they were straight etc he says he assumes so.

That won't cut it for me I'm afraid. Won't part wit £700 for 8 item(4 wheels and 4 tyres) that I only need 1 of and on the assumption they are all straight and true.

If someone else snaps them up. I'll buy one of the set providing you can have them checked and even better if you want the tyres for yourself too. Other than that.... I'm out on this one.
