Debadging

Post by DrB » Sun Apr 10, 2016 2:28 pm

Hello to all. I'm back after 3.5 years of common sense! I couldn't live without my 6, so I have traded in my Merc for a new 6+.

The question now is whether to remove the RS6 page from the front and rear. I quite like the Q car ethos, although it if difficult to hide a 6. What are peoples thoughts? Do you have any pics of ones that have been debadged? I pick mine up in less than a week, and I could have the model badge removed.

Thanks,

Mark

The front badge just clips on and off so you can try it when you get it.

I love it when you see a TDi badge on an RS6.

Just had a look at mine and wasn't sure how to pull it off. Does it just pop off if you pull hard enough?

In all honesty if someone wants to take it they know the cars so don't know what removing the badge will sort. The badges aren't that big either

I have decided to debage mine as vast majority of people are not that familiar with the car and I prefer for my customers to know the least the possible.
I will just tell them it's a tuned 6 with sport exhaust and big wheels! HAHA :D

Chris Harris has a completely debaged one (he even has a Quattro-less grill):

My RS4 one just clipped between the honeycomb shapes. Pretty sure the RS6 is exactly the same.

Alternatively, depending on car colour you could go for a dark badge:

I'll keep the quattro bit in the lower front grille but i'm certainly getting rid of the RS6 badges. It goes with the Q car look and will hopefully make thieves wonder if its just a TDI with big wheels.

This is what I was hoping with my customers, but somehow I think the brakes and the exhaust will unfortunately give it away quite easily...HAHA
But debaging it for sure... :D

LOL, it's not even tge brakes or wheels, it's those flared arches and aggressive bumpers. There's no way in the world someone would mistake it for an A6 in the flesh.

I got the dealer to do it, hence why the spacing is wrong on the rs6 badge.
But you won't scratch it. Heat it with a hairdryer first to soften the sticky stuff then use some fishing line or similar to gently prise it away.

Brilliant thanks Mike, they're all coming off then!!

Did you have your car detailed post collection? I'd like mine to have the same depth of shine like Ross' or even Wayne with the Merlin one - I get the feeling he polishes his ALOT though

Yes I had mine detailed at the same place that did Waynes Merlin rs6. I see Waynes Instagram mentioning swissvax, I had gtechnic crystal serum and exo applied for protection. Now that's done mayne next time I'll give the swissvax a go.
And Ross cleans his non stop.
