Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
Hi Guys
Just seen this:
http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-w ... c-11019270
Not sure if/when they'll clamp down but I'm there fairly regularly in the spring/Autumn so will report back if we see any changes
With the group I'm with, we organise our meets via a Whatsapp group rather than an open forum, which may be better for here too in case they monitor forums

Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
If anyone has heard of the cat and fiddle in Buxton, this road was classed as one of the most dangerous in the uk as bikers mainly used to drive it. The road now has a 50mph speed limit with specs cameras all the way along and there is usually a police helicopter on patrol. Hope they don't do the same to these roads...
Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
Just getting crazy now. More and more cameras popping up in the motorways with these new fandangle ones that cover all 3-4 lanes that are grey in colour!!!.
Sounds like the cops are all over it in north wales now.
Cat and Fiddle is local to me and a cracking drive, but as you said Rw@@dy, wrecked by cameras now.
Think we talked about this Sunday and DK suggested hitting the highlands as the roads up there are second to none in the UK and pretty much traffic and police free!!!!

Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
It's always been like that on weekends, especially at the start of the warmer months when every weekend has dozens of car clubs and groups hammering it around the loop
There's plenty of other nice roads in that area away from the 'triangle' and weekdays are generally clear of police, and you're less likely to get taken out by a fiesta st for the max power car club

Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
There's plenty of decent passes in the lakes that could be used too
Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
Isle of Man TT course is a good drive with no limits away from the towns and villages, it'd make a good weekend away.
Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
Cost of the ferries is prohibiting though, £180!

Re: Authorities clamping down on Evo Triangle
The last time I looked I pay road tax. That means I can drive my car where I like on the queens highway. There are speed limits, warning signs, double white lines, chevrons etc. to warn road users accordingly to take care, oncoming danger etc.
What's the focking problem with these moaning nob heads, "don't drive down my road because you've got a big fat loud car". Anyone who drives in a reckless manner is irresponsible. We all know there is a time to speed and a time not to speed. For all of us who have safely driven the Evo Triangle and enjoyed it let's carry on.

Unfortunately though, the EVO triangle attracts a lot of fast cars & Bikes and many of them do drive like dick headsCovkiller wrote:The last time I looked I pay road tax. This isn't just the chav brigade either, as I've seen Mclarens and Ferraris up there being driving like complete twats - Think overtaking local traffic in blind corners, taking corners like a race track on the wrong side of the road and spinning up through the towns. Famous roads attract dick heads, that's the problem with places become well known, and people see it as a free for all racetrack, when in actual fact it's also someones house, commute, walk to school etc
Hence why the police clamp down on the place
It's empty in the week, and there's also loads of other really good roads around there which aren't so well known
