I had my front end sprayed last May and it looked fantastic. My 1st trip to work from Cov to Derby and stone chipped immediately. Went to the ring in July and onto work in Berlin and then home. Got back and it looked like it was machine gunned.

Going to the ring again on Wednesday. My friend, who's going, has just had his Lamborghini Gallardo wrapped in metallic yellow, it will be interesting to see it in the flesh and the shine.

So I will go through the winter and get mine sprayed again in the spring for about £450 with all other scratches and marks taken out too. Whilst the bumper is off I'll get it wrapped in Mugello Blue along with the wing fronts and entire bonnet.
RS4 B7, Mugello Blue, K&W V3 & HR ARBs, set up by Centre Gravity, Milltek Valved Non Res & cat bypass pipes, BMC air filter, braided hoses, DOT 5.1, Terraclean, MRC Full Carbon Clean, MRC remap 448PS 477NM, 20" S7 alloys with 4mm spacers & Hawke spigots 66.6 > 57.1, AP Racing front discs. Sold Sept 2019. Now rocking an F80 M3

Just thought I'd revive this thread. Currently having my car detailed and thought it would be a shame to not protect it properly once all nice and shiny so whilst there it is having the whole front end wrapped with a paint protective film (front bumper, bonnet, wings, headlights and mirrors).
I asked about what film he uses and he said he uses a combo of both Suntek and 3m; one of them gives better protection for the high impact areas like the front bumper but the other has a better shine so is used on the bonnet.

If you remember my bonnet, the gloss is quite disappointing. It's the only thing I don't like.

The wings and bumper for some reason are OEM gloss levels though. Odd. All 3M ventureshield.

Windscreen is stonechipped in several places and yet there's not a mark on the front bodywork. Love the 3M stuff :)

I had the latest film that had just been sent to the fitter, must find out what is was as it was fitted to my bonnet last
The shine is so good you just would never know its been fitted

To be fair Ross, most peoples idea of shiny is different to your idea of shiny!

See you on Sunday Mike. The shine on mine (3M's Ventureshield) looks good but I haven't polished it yet and feel after applying McGuires Mirror Glaze and hope it looks even better afterwards. The lads at Covertech said it takes up to 30 days to cure properly. But also said I can polish it immediately. I think I'll leave it as it is for Sundays meet so you can all form your own opinion on the finish.
