800bhp + DIY Project
Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
Paul, can you PM me rough price please?
Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
You need to cut the standard exhaust for transport yes. It's huge so if you remove it, there's no way of getting it back home unless you cut it. Easy enough to put a sleeve back on when you come to put the standard back in. That's what exhaust shops do after all.

Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
Paul, what's your setup?
Is that the Milltek non resonated catback? What downpipes have you went for? Will they mate up with the Milltek catback?
The standard downpipes are 2 x 2.5" so the Milltek catback mating flange is 2 x 2.5" so that it fits directly to the standard downpipes.
If you buy the 2.75 or 3" downpipes, you get a new set of front link pipes so that the mating flange is the same. This means that if you buy the system in 2 parts, i.e, the Catback section and then the Downpipes rather than the full system in one package, you end up with 2 sets of front link pipes. One with a 2.5" flange and the other with either a 2.75 or 3" dependent on what sized downpipes you opt for
Not a big issue to be fair as you can sell on the Milltek 2.5" flange front link pipes as they remove the 2nd cat restrictions and are a good mod in their own right.
I don't think you have gone for Milltek downpipes though? So you may have an issue mating a 3" flange to the 2.5" flange from the Milltek link pipes?
Does that make sense?
Oh and p.s, the job to replace the downpipes is an absolute bitch. Set aside a good 5-6hrs for the full replacement. It's worth it though, makes a big big difference

Infact, forget that, if your new 3" downpipes are designed to mate up to the standard cat back section, then they will mate up to this Milltek catback, both would be 2 x 2.5" flanged at the connection

I will be keeping it so when I sell the car. it will be put back to standard. Not sure if there is a joint in the standard pipe or not. Will report back once I get mine fitted

The cable is a bit pricey. The VIM coding is pretty straightforward. (YouTube : VIM enabled using VCP).Paulm wrote:Yeah I did read that somewhere, not looked into getting one yet.
Easy enough to do??
Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
Looking good @Paulm.
@Leo-RS: did the entire subframe need to be dropped to get the downpipes in ?

Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
3" downpipes connecting to 2.75" milltek. down pipes come with 2.5" connection so will bolt straight to the milltek front pipe. I will then get the 2.5" reduction bit cut out and replaced with 3" reducing to 2.75" at the milltek front-pipe.Leo-RS wrote:Paul, what's your setup?

Yeah the subframe needs dropped Ved. Mines needed a wheel alignment afterwards as the steering wheel went slightly off centre. No bad thing as I found the rears off slightly too (from factory)

Exhaust fitted yet @Paul ?
Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
no. Sold my old 4 post ramp and bought a second hand 2 post ramp but its 3 phase (not happy, guy lied to my face) so selling it and ordered a brand new 2 post ramp. just waiting for it to arrive, but looks like I will end up back offshore before it arrives so will be 3 weeks before I get it fitted

Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: 800bhp + DIY Project
not arrived yet, taking an age. I ordered them on the 29th and they sat in the sorting office for 3 days, according to the tracker they have only just left Moscow. I will be offshore by the time they arrive so wont be fitting any time soon
Cheapest 3" downpipes I have found. no idea what their build quality will be like. My son bought a 3" system for his Ibiza from east Europe (cant remember where) and the quality is on par and probably higher than what we would get in the UK. The guy who welded it is a true craftsman.
