I'm running Morimoto bulbs (courtesy of Trups), 6000K. Gives a nice crisp light, and didn't break the bank either.

Isn't the factory Kelvin rating around the 5000k mark?

6000k would be too blue IMHO.

Factory rating is 4300k which is white yellow, 5000k is white white, and 6000k will be white blue. The higher in kelvin you go the more lumens you loose but it's only 100 a time.

5000k would be the best median, I run osram Cbi's which are 5000k, morimoto are a good alternative for the price as they use Phillips capsules and are designed in the USA.

Been looking at mtec ones and Philips aswell but obviously Philips are double the price .

Will have a look into the osrams and the morimoto's

Had a 6k hid kit in my last car obviously won't be as good as proper xenons but I thought the colour wasn't to bad

I had my bulbs changed to Osram Xenarc CBI D1S in November and the consensus seemed to be they were the best "mainstream" upgrade bulb. They seem very good, a bit whiter than the originals but not blue at all.

I bought them from here and they came next day - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/D1S-OS ... -Bulb.html

I've just fitted Nightbreaker D2S to my C6, holy cow the difference is outstanding! Literally night and day, shocked at the improvement!

Interesting this - I hadn't compared side by side before, but the 6000K morimoto D1S bulbs in the RS look perfectly white, whereas the 6000K morimoto D2S bulbs I have in the Golf look more blue.

Not a problem, as I like them both, but interesting to note the difference...

Fas, it's the clear len's on your RS making them look whiter. Different projectors will make them look different for sure but they are the same, your RS ones are just performing better.
