I agree with the buckets. They are desirable, hence why I am keeping mine. If I had a choice, I would probably go for the comfort seats next time around
Re: Should have done a build thread, Since buying the car.
Only a little direct?
Running KW adjustable springs with the original DRC system would retain decent ride quality whilst dropping the ride height.
Fitting full coilovers would also involve fitting uprated arb's and that really does kill the ride quality at low speed so best avoided.
If you have gone to the trouble of fitting spacers then looks do matter to you somewhat. 15mm spacers will rub on the arches unless your current wheels are not the oem spec et29's which was the point Mike was trying to make. You might not notice it just now with the car sitting at normal ride height but when you do hit something hard enough they will rub quite badly.
For reference most people run 8mm front and 10mm rear.
I am about the same height as you and have had no issues with either the oem comfort or bucket seat options. You could swap the buckets out for the standard cab seats but if I remember rightly they are normal A4 seats with RS4 logo's on them. So zero support when cornering.........
On a side note, had a quick look at your photobucket album earlier, wtf is going on with your mountain bike stem??? The bike will handle like an oil tanker with something that long in it.
If it looks wrong, then it normally is wrong.

No matter where you go, there you are.

well I've been flamed for being direct, even when met with negativity - And your last couple of sentences are not direct all, friendly bunch on here ?coffey555 wrote:Only a little direct?

What makes you think that's my bike? and no stem is going to affect a bikes handling.
Re: Should have done a build thread, Since buying the car.
That wasn't negativity it was opinion and advice. Take it or leave it. You asked for opinions and got them. I wasn't being negative, I don't like the splitter, im sure you're a big boy and and can get over that, others like it though. I didn't think you had spacers fitted, how is that negative? And I asked if you had the right wheels. I've been to a meet before where the owner though he had the right wheels with 20mm spacers and they weren't sticking out so told him to check the fitment and they were not the right wheels. Trying to help out but I won't bother.
Re: Should have done a build thread, Since buying the car.
I reckon the reason that the wheels don't look as spaced out as far as we'd expect with 15mm spacers, is possibly because of the tyres. That's my theory...
Boba - what size/brand are they? 235's by any chance? Or otherwise could be a brand that runs a bit narrow

Well this reminds me of civiclife.....
We are all grown up, everyone likes there own thing and people dont always like what you have done... thats life a fact of the internet, but that doesnt mean people dont respect you for trying something new.
Your attitude came accross a little direct but you adressed that so fair play!
Mike has been around here along time and knows his B7's very well... the thing with this place over other forums is everyone is genuinley trying to help out.
If you read each post like a friendly conversation then things will flow better, its when you read it wrong and think its an attack more than a friendly piece of advise that things get dodgy.
I have been on many a forum and i can understand completly why you are defensive but this place isnt like the others so best advice just try and read things a little less personally.
And to anyone else jumping on the attack lets just not spit our dummy's out or have a moment... move on and lets try this one again ok?

It did come across negatively to me, I tried to explain why in a previous post, but hey !!MikeFish wrote:That wasn't negativity it was opinion and advice. Take it or leave it. Re: Should have done a build thread, Since buying the car.
Bingo!
That's all it was then, narrower tyres than normal fitment.
Next time you're due to change tyres (if not before) I'd recommend slapping some 255/35/19's on there - these are the recommended size for the B7.
At 235, you'll get a bit less contact area, less rim protection, slightly more wheel gap (smaller side wall), and the speedo will be off by 2%.
