I'm very interested in the gearbox, especially:
- billet main shaft - my car has been through a lot of input shafts etc.
- wavetrac diff, gripper or Quaife - because fucken RACECAR!
- 4:1 center diff mod - trying to dial out the under-steer in these cars is the holy-grail innit.
Other than that, what torque are you excepting and what clutch are you going for?

I really have no idea on power level. I'll let you know though!
It's on a clutch master cm850 twin disk with their internal slave cylinder.
Did you have any pics of you build you could link me to? Would be interested to see how the manifolds look and the inlets and airbox

There is no build thread. Just a couple of videos, you can see the intakes in this one.
I am going to have it pulled apart soon and redesign the air delivery and clean up the front sub-frame. I like the idea of an air ramp against the bonnet and vented only to reduce pressure behind the rad, pull more cooling for rad and FMCC. It'll most likely end up with a double mushroom style air filter. There are no MAFs just manual wastegate.
Gearbox needs to be rebuilt with the carbon coated syncro rings, 3rd gear is almost useless but 5th and 6th are treated.
I'd also like to try another clutch, looking at a 3 plate kevlar or 2 plater with a modified B7 PP - both good for 1500Nm and 1100Nm respectively but another flywheel might need to be made. It's currently running a Spec stage 3+ but it's right on the limit straight from the off anyways, very drivable though.

I'm not keen on cutting the hood up. I'd like it to look as stock as possible but that's just me. I guess if it was a HUGE gain increase id be for it.
That sucks about your gearbox. Hope you get it sorted. JHM makes a carbon synchro kit for like $600 USD and included an updated 1-2 shift collar.
As far as clutch goes it depends on your setup. If you have an adapter plate for the trans then your flywheel will be different than mine. I have w twin disk in my b5 same as the rs6 and it's just ok. It holds all the power and whatever I wanna do to it (drop it or slip it) but it's not very fun to drive around town lol.

Crank power.
Torque is limited in 1st and 2nd. It's the 3rd gear synchro that's borked, it's probably running the old brass jobbies. There are loads of kits available, even in London! It's just finding someone that can do it properly that's difficult. I'd also like to strengthen other bits in the box too, need to do more research and get a list of priorities.
The kevlar versions of the clutches I'm looking at should 'feel' OE but I'd doubt they'd last very long in slip mode. It wouldn't be so bad if the turbos weren't wrapped around the gearbox, meaning that every time that I want to change a clutch the whole lot has gotta come out. So, ideally I'd like to get it right, however, even if I do get it right, these new clutches will hold ALL the torque, so no doubt it'll just start breaking other bits on the drivetrain.

Having spoken to a friend that approached MRC, the manual conversion was quoted at 15k +/-2k.
I read that MTM also did a manual conversion using the B5 RS4 gearbox (Audi Driver magazine dec 2004 issue 12)

15k thats crazy. Im about to do mine . I have a 2.7tt a6 for all the running gear. Steveken adapter plate. Jhm clutch. Might add the jhm carbon synchro kit aswell. Under 3k so far. Will be doing the swap myself.

Or you can switch out the crank for an S6 crank to get even more clutch options.
