Stripped out c5 rs6 for track

Post by LooseAsAGoose » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:47 pm

Any one running a stripped out c5 rs6. Buckets and cage? Or has anyone seen one that they can post pics of?

Someone was going to do it at one stage but think they then realized - WHATS THE FECKING POINT? Much better cars out there for the track.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Other than 1 in the States that was a proper trackcar I've only ever seen 1 UK car with a cage and was for the Idris Elba speed program where the car was up for sale recently on eBay (started £15k+, dropped to £11k, probably less than that if it hasn't sold).

As chunky mentioned, the point of a stripped out caged track car and the point of an RS6 are at opposite ends of the scale so, while yes you could do it, it'd be a waste of an RS6.

They're still fun to do some trackdays in though! :D

It'd be torture on the wallet for brakes, tyres, gearboxes and fuel but other than that, yeah, it's the perfect trackday car.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Plus the water and oil temps get nasty when really pushing hard, definitely not the right car, as Ian said, the occasional track day is good fun but it'll never be great in the tight bends.

For the money, you wont beat an evo. 400/400 evo would make easy work out of a stripped c5.
