Brakes again... B7 RS4

Post by daveb77 » Sat Feb 13, 2016 8:39 am

Before i pull the trigger, is this the best bet out there:

http://www.stokeaudi-parts.co.uk/produc ... RICE).html

Been looking at all posts / links etc for non OEM and am not really sure on alternatives just to save a wee bit of money (learned the hard way recently on this regarding fuel...). Will likely go for yellow stuff pads though as ive read they provide better bite (and are a bit less OEM price : ) )

Any feedback on recent purchases would be appreciated and if anyone has reused bells etc. Do the nuts /bolts tend to come off OK?

Major shudder when i brake now, discs were previously skimmed so due to be replaced i think unless anyone can recommend a Glasgow / Paisley area skimmer i could speak with first (clutching straws).
Cheers,

D

Dave

Have you looked at AP's replacement discs for the B7 stock bell? be worth getting some new fixing's/bobbins and an AP disc if you contact BG developments they can get decent discount on AP discs.

I recently replaced my rear discs with AP bells/discs and the discs worked out around just over £300 per disc (might be less i cant remember) and they are roughly the same size as your fronts 356mm.
Just had brand new 410mm front discs (biggest AP make) and custom bells made plus some Radi cal R4 fluid, discs worked out at £346 each with some nice discount.

Dave

I've recently replaced my front discs with the JHM lightweight rotors using my standard bells.
It works out about £472 for a pair delivered via FedEx to the u.k.

I have them installed with standard OEM Pagid pads and I honestly can't fault them.
Fitting was no hassle at all and JHM supply the rotors with new locking nuts and bolts and also full installation instructions are included. Also the old fixings come off easily.

Sounds like a plan! Do fancy the slotted instead of drilled. Any pics fitted by chance?

Brembo don't make the rear, just the front.

I scoured eBay and found two sellers one had a right hand the other a left hand. Both brand new, managed to get them both for £250. Keep browsing and you never know...

Good luck... Let's see if they get the order right! Just speaking from experience and I doubt I'm the only one

I ordered some discs for my M5.. They sent a Mis matched pair. Sent one back after being told that the matching one was in stock and will swapped. Took 4 weeks. Sorted in the end though.
