Milltek Resonated with custom back section

Post by Bruce-m » Thu Feb 04, 2016 3:11 pm

So I brought off Seaneb on here his Milltek resonated middle section and have had it fitted and paired up with a 3" rear section all done by my friends over at Leadfoot racing @Thruxton using the stock tips.

I gotta say I'm pretty happy with it she looks stock but absolutely love the noise :biggrin3:

That sounds awesome, but removing pre-cats and gutting the main cats will take it to a completely new level altogether (but it'll need a remap). If you want to stay legal then no pre-cats and Milltek 100 cell main cats sounds almost exactly the same (but it'll still need a remap).
PREVIOUS: Black Audi B6 S4 Avant. Custom exhaust (sounded amazing). Otherwise standard and near perfect.
PRESENT: Muggy '53 RS6 loon. MTM Stage2. KW3s. 100 cells. Milltek.

I was going to only take pre cats out and leave main cats in

Removing the pre-cats will generate a CEL unless the ECU is told to ignore the newly redundant lambdas. The remap will sort this as well as taking advantage of the new hardware :)

Yeah I was only going to take the pre cats out just before heading up to MRC for a remap and ITG filters :beerchug:

May as well gut the mains while you are doing it surely? The remap will cost the same but it will make a significant difference to performance and sound. All you will need then is a friendly MOTer.

I've got a friendly MOTer but it's more the resale issues I'm thinking of as want to change to the C6 version poss at the end of the year

But it'll take a lot more for it to sound like this:

To be fair she's currently just about perfect, I'm worried the pre cat removal will be to loud, it is after all the family car, the loud bat sh*t crazy machine is my skyline so trying to keep this car a bit more sensible and classy lmao
