Looking at this RS6
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121874426576? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Going to view it Sunday, anything in particular i should be looking out for?
Got tons of paper work. Main dealer and MRC. Had a serviced 600miles ago (gearbox and engine oil) plus cam belt and water pump. Got plenty of tread and life on brakes. Still on its' original box by the sounds of it.
Anything i've missed?
Thanks

Very black isn't it?! Probably best to phone MRC up and see what they have to say about it. The thing that would worry me (and it might be nothing) is that they are selling it after 800 miles of a gearbox fluid change. Maybe it's because a potential purchaser may think it's one less job to do or maybe it's because the gearbox was slipping and they thought a fluid change might fix it? It has done 127k.
It's also only got a couple of months MOT, so there could be a reason for selling it before the bills roll in.

It is, but that looks like spray on tint film that can be removed. That does sound like a good plan.
Just did a HPI check and one of the plates had some finance outstanding on it or a person, from the way i understand it.
i'll post screen shots in a second once they have uploaded

Re: Looking at this RS6
I read that as meaning in 2003 it was registered on the plate RUN1 ,this plate appears to have been moved off this car in 2006 and replaced with FY52XJX. The rest of the registration plates then follow in the list provided. At the time of checking the plate RUN 1 which I assume has nothing to do with the car you are looking at has finance against it. That plate appears to be now on a continental GTC convertible 4.0 V8 is what the finance is on.
I think

Thanks, Yea, its got it's standard plate on FY52 XJX. I did wonder that as i did google that string of letters and it came up with a bently continental, but didn't fully understand. I'll ask the bloke anyway just to be safe. But thansk again. I'll get the Vin and V5 numbers to confirm the HPI check
Re: Looking at this RS6
No harm in having a look, just remember you can walk away if you don't like it. There are plenty more RS6s for sale at the moment. If you can increase your budget to around the 10k mark that puts you in a good position. Check the classifieds on here.

Re: Looking at this RS6
At the moment i could stretch to 10k but i really want to have some spare cash in case something needs doing, which is why i'm looking around 9k for one
Re: Looking at this RS6
I see he has a spare gearbox etc in his other listings on eBay
Re: Looking at this RS6
Looks like the car is for sale from a car breakers.
It appears he also has some other RS6 bits available -

Depends really on history. Theres no mention of any sort of recon having been done on it.
What about this one?
Similar money but with gearbox rebuild

I personally wouldn't touch the barge pole that touched that car.DirtyDiesel wrote: Going to view it Sunday, anything in particular i should be looking out for?
^^The last one looks a bit better, but my spider senses are definitely not thrilled either.

Re: Looking at this RS6
I did query him on the other RS6 bits. He's says he brough an engine them so he could strip them and sell them for spares. He seems to be a reasonable guy (answering my many questions quickly so and thoroughly) It was the MRC servce history that kept me interested. also he'd p/x my old car.
but that other RS6 is a lot closer but its private so id need to still shift my old car. i'll still enqire about it.

Looks like the one with the recon gearbox is letting me view the car tonight.
Re: Looking at this RS6
Have a look at this one:

It's an ex forum members car and Ian takes great care of his cars and it seems to have been well looked after by the current seller.
You get what you pay for..... Empty the piggy bank if you have to!
