If you need gearbox oil and filter, let me know. I bought all this for my gearbox but then decided just to get the box replaced, so its been in my garage now for a duple of months, never used.
Think in total it cost me about £180 for 9L of oil and the filter. If you're interested I'll take £120

Sorry for huge delay since I first posted my plea for help in December!
Just wanted to thank everyone for their input.
It was a huge saga, lasting from June 2013 until it was finally fixed in Feb 2014 (cost £3,600 plus funding alternative transport from time to time and a load of stress and hassle).
Although the car was perfect from then, I'd spent the last 7 or 8 months nursing it everywhere and had lost confidence in it (and the garage), so I decided to sell while the car was great and it had the warranty on the repair. Sold in 12 hours, cash, and to someone who had been looking for one for a few months and knew what he was about, so glad to see it going to a good home.
Now driving a new Seat Leon FR, so not in the same league, but a damn sight cheaper. I miss the RS6 sometimes, but not as much as the RS4 I had new in 2006 and sold in 2008.

I'm guessing from the cost it was a replacement box.
