Chingford is <beep>. They were a bit too excited at seeing a RS4 for my liking. Took it there once for a recall and will never go again

Hi there, I had a similar problem with my car in about Feb / March time last year. Had the new software installed to gearbox and this improved things for a few weeks until the shove returned and the hesitance to go after slowing down to say 25-35 in 4th gear. After a week or so with the dealer and various diagnostics sent to Audi they sent a whole new gearbox from Germany. The dealer never attempted the mechatronics only fix. Since gearbox was replaced definitely no thuds into 1st but on rare occasions I have had the car lagging after slowing down in 4th - it feels like turbo lag or no spark! I've asked the dealer to look into this but of course it never presents the fault when they try it so I have just decided it doesn't happen enough for me to waste energy trying to get it diagnosed. Maybe it is just a trait, or a software glitch. Never any issues when driving in manual. Hope you resolve your problem but if i were you I'd make sure you do so well before warranty runs out so you can be sure it really is fixed, I hate to think what he gearbox in mine would have cost. Good luck.

Courtesy Car - ah the JB achilles heal.

They have no decent cars for you to borrow. If the gearbox is that bad, the only way to combine JB and decent wheels is if the car "has a serious fault off the drive and nowhere near an Audi garage" whereby you'll be forced to call Audi breakdown, who will look at it and then get you into a decent car whilst yours is recovered to dealer of your choice.

NP's fella!

JB will drop u a courtesy, usually an A3. But what I have found that they can book you in very quick. Just call and book.

Usually within a week with a courtesy

I would concur, although they know it. Bearing in mind they are Audi & Bentley service centres, they are wanting to make sure they offer top notch service and I understand that over 2016 this will be addressed in some way. Time will tell, but in all honesty, I can live with an A3 for a couple of days if I know my car is being looked after properly.

Simple.
