Not long, maybe 4-5 days. It's the transport side that takes forever, and the QC covers inspection and rectification so it can take a couple of days too.

Te car normaly goes into the panel Shop on the Thursday before the build week. By Monday it should be fully built and in quality control.

MikeFish wrote:To access the coding behind the GUI you need to log on to Your Audi. You should have a web address that looks like:
'https://www.audi.co.uk/youraudi/youraud ... r/2xxxxxxx'
Obviously, the last bit will be your own order number.

Then you need to paste this into the address bar of the same window (without the inverted commas):
'https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-ap ... v1/orders/'
but leave your 8 digit order number at the end so it should look like 'https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-ap ... s/2xxxxxxx'

If you open another window or tab it won't work.
If succesful you will see a page full of what looks like mumbo jumbo. look at the first line. There should be an Order Status in there folllowed by a 2 digit number. This is the current status of your car. See below for what the different codes mean.

Or you can copy the text and paste it into here:
http://www.jsonlint.com/
for a more ligical view. In this view you can see when your car changed from one code to the next. Plus at bottom it has your build week, first day of build, and your option codes.

Order codes:

00 - Welcome
10 - Order Received
20 - Preperation
21 - Panel Shop
22 - Paint Shop
23 - Assembly
24 - Quality Control
30 - Your Audi has left Ingolstadt
38 - At Emden
39 - On the boat
40 - Ready for Transport to the dealer
60 - Left UK Port on the way to the dealer
70 - Arrived at dealer - Call to make your collection plans

Note; when I was tracking an order I never saw code 38 or 60 but maybe that was becuase it went from code 40 to 70 in less than 24 hours (only updates once a day). But I know it must have been sitting at Emden for about 10 days but didn't get a 38 (stayed on code 30 for ages then went to code 39).

Thanks for that Mike. Mine is now listed at QC on the my audi site but when looking in the abovewhycerycodes

Ive got this now Does it mean it was at QC code 24 28.12.15 but now gone back to 20 Prep? Dont think they would have painted it on the 25.12.15 !! so perhaps they are just estimations? Build week 1. 28.12.15 stated.

Hands hot n stick wanty mucho RS6

Thanks

Mine was build week 1 ordered 15th October. Dealer offered me a little discount to take early but thought if it was 1st week in Feb what would be the point but if she lands by next week I may be tempted to take the delivery Image

In my experience this is the longest and slowest part of the build. It can sit at the dock for ages waiting to get on a boat and, depending on the dealer, it can sit at the docks at the other end waiting to be picked up.

It takes about 1 week to build and pass quality control tjen about 3 weeks to make the journey to the dealer.

Generally the boats used are
Emden
EMS highway
Neckar highway
African highway
Weser highway

I have seen others too but these are the main ones.
Boats leave Emden and head into either Tyne, Grimsby, Sheerness I think.

Hi Mike
Do you know or can find out When are the next boats going to the UK? Im assuming the train will take 2 days to load/transport/unload and then the wait at the port. I imagine they will wait for a bulk shipment to the UK and hoping that they will have a fair few cars to ship early in the New Year so hoping mine and Anth will be metal brothers on the same ship. So is their a boat leaving for the UK say on Friday 8th? or Monday 10th?

I think you can pay for more information but not sure what information you get. I think its more a case of waiting in the queue of cars to get on a boat rather than waiting for enough cars. I've heard that if your car is still at the Port after 10 days it goes onto a priority list.

Yeah its a long wait!
I kept looking at the boats I previously listed and clicking on them to see what their next destination was and hoping for a code change. Oddly, the code didn't change and to show it was on the boat, just went straight to the car in the uk so kinda wasted my time watching the boats but I'll be doing it again in a few weeks regardless.
