Book price will affect the residual value 65 vs 16 plate. But as your going to cash out the ballon then that's not really relevant. Would you prefer the later plate? Would you prefer the £500? One thing I would do if you are leaving it with the dealer is go there the day it's delivered and check the mileage. It shouldn't have more than a mile or two more on delivery to you. Another benefit of 'seeing the car in' is if there are any issues they can't try to cover them up before you see it.

Sounds like I'm cynical to dealers antics but having seen some of the poo they try to pull 1st hand I ought to be :(

All my new audis have had more miles than that. My last w s around 14 miles IIRC
All RS audis are test driven at the factory, and I'd imagine the dealer would drive it too as part of their PDI

A consideration is the number plate. The 65 plate car is good if you want to stump up £399 for the RS65 *** DVLA Plate. (RS65 ANT for example, assuming your first name is Anthony going by your username?)

Depends how early they get the car in January I suppose, I think if it was a Feb delivery, I'd probably wait just for the sake of the new plate, mid January tho, I'd probably take the car and the extra discount. The difference later on will be negligible, probably the same as the £500 they are giving you.

I've seen some great RS6 number plates. Seriously thinking of getting one.
Ant, you don't need to get a 65 plate for a good one, how about RS6 I ANT?

I was saying a mile or two more than when it arrived at dealership. Ie you go on the day it's delivered to dealer, let's say it's got 12 miles on it. If you pick it up in a few weeks and it's got 20 miles it's been used for something it shouldn't have.

Good point, sorry, I misunderstood initially
I can imagine the temptation of the sales guys also, with a brand new rs6 sat there

Already got my plate, it's an RS60 plate. The car should land last week in Jan but as Feb is a shorter month I can prob hold out till then. It's in quality control now so can't see it landing in the next two weeks.
