or they re-consider there options and think your car is to much hassle as what else do you have installed to thwart them the next time.

If it is taken off you in the street then you have time to leg it and call the police before they realise what has happened so they won't be able to come back for you or find you. If it was taken from your home then yes there is a chance they will come back to get the code / get revenge for f'ing them about, but one member on here who lives near Eddie had his RS4 and Q7 stolen from his house and they legged it once the blackjax kicked in (well they legged it from the Q7, apparently he found them in the RS4 but we never heard what happened after that).
I'd like to think that the car stopped in the middle of the road with the lights flashing and siren going would be enough for them to leg it rather than risk getting caught unless they are in them middle of nowhere with no houses nearby.

this member got both of his cars back both were abandoned further on down the street and he now swears by the blackjax.

doesn't make good reading :-(. As mentioned it is only a car so not worth risking your life or your family life over it

No way, then you're feeling the supply. Get the car back then flog it. But don't let them have it.

But if you get it back, it'll always be 'stolen/recovered'
I wouldn't want my car back after some scum bag had thrashed it about, and it'll have reduced sales value

Not if you get it back immediately. And it won't have been thrashed for long. The Blackjax stops the car very quickly according to the blurb. Maybe too quickly.

Just ask the thieves to take it easy for the first few miles.

I don't want it either, but I want them having it even less!

How about a happy compromise? They crash it head on into a wall, car written off. Thieving sods paralysed for life?

It's only recorded as stolen/recovered on HPI if the insurance company pay out as a total loss and it is then subsequently recovered.

Eddie555 wrote:Hi guys and for the ones that didn't know ill re-cap. I first noticed these pond scum eyeing up my car on the 4/11 on my CCTV. I then added a Disklok on the same night. 2 days later I fitted a security post and Yale wireless PIR alarm to the car. With the security I have around the outside of my house the not so dumb scumbags probably guessed that I don't sleep without my main house alarm on so basically they were out of options to steal my car from my home.
I can only assume the next part but I had noticed hand marks on my dirty wheels 4 days prior to the hijack and to this day I swear the theives had been underneath my car and placed a location device underneath without me knowing and I had only noticed when I saw the hand marks. Due to this they had found my location of work and that's where they did the deed of hijacking me 14/12. My Disklok was on at the time and they knew this and when I gave one <beep> my sole car key he knew this and demanded the Disklok key before he let go around my neck. It had taken them 5 weeks to work out my routine. Now all I'll say to you guys is the harder you make it impossible for them to take from you it seems the more determined and ruthless the may become. TBF all this does remind me of the old days with cossies, Rs fords and the scooby/evo days. You can't have anything desirable today cause what's desirable to us is very to the thief.

This is scary reading and a horrible experience.

At the end of the day, like you pointed out, all you can do is deter. But at the point of physical danger that's when the realisation comes that they will have your property regardless. Protection of nuts and bolts is expected to a point, but its not the be all and end all when it comes to a life.

Sorry to hear of your experience.

slightly off topic, the Tesla Model S lets you track and see the live speed, then when it comes to a stop at a red light or stop sign, it not longer is able to go. It also has a valet mode which limits the top speed to parking garage speeds.
