works on my FL,but got bored within 2 seconds, although did have a close one, pressed the button and my son had forgotten to take something out of the boot--there's always a catch--anyone know if there's an auto stop if something, like a human, gets in the way !!!!

If it detects anything in the way it will reopen.

I think it detects by the pressure of the boot not closing rather than a infra red / motion type detector.

When I ordered mine the only mention of remote tailgate closure was part of the advanced key package. I believe if you don't have the advanced key you can code it to work.

Must be advanced key. Could also do with door button closing it to! Helps when your waiting for dog to get in car!

Click on byte 2, bit 2
Tick Comfort operation: Remote control active
[Do It!]

[Select]
[4D - Trunk Elec]
[Security Access - 16]
Input 12345
[Adaption - 10]
Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key - Touch function for closing
Change to ACTIVE
[Do It!]

yes but most say active (including the one you suggested). I need more time to read through all options. my lap top was going flat.

I tried my fob again tonight. All I hear is the boot lock opening which would suggest it does not know its open. Using the switch inside the car does nothing either

Ok, I've just read about someone with a facelift car with exactly the same issue as you ie both were already actives and this post helped them fix it and get it working:

Check that both tap and touch are not activated at the same time:

6D – Trunk electronics
Security access – 16 = 12345
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Touch function for closing) from active to not active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Touch function for closing) from active to not active

This will result:

remote opening – long press - touch
remote closing – short press - tap
door closing – short press – tap

Touch = long press is set for opening to prevent accidentally opening the hatch.
