What about the straight bit above Spalding? 160mph is too easy in these cars, can do that just on the a1 normally
As doodle has quite rightly said. We should no longer discuss doing silly things on public roads. He who will do the crime will defo have to do plenty of time.

I like to shower with soap and not be scared to drop it.
Fair point well made, shouldn't really be up for discussion with legal ramifications etc. From that perspective, "yes officer, we have all bought RS6's to get to 70mph really quickly"

A404M Marlow Bypass down the hill, a great straight with the hill for added go. I was caught there about 15 years ago doing 108mph, I was going much faster but left the police car for dead so that’s all the managed to catch me at on their vascar meter. Not a fun experience with some very shouty coppers when they caught up and then a court appearance, not something I care to repeat. It will be at Bruntingthorpe next time I give it a go :)

would be interested to hear what you get out of your Stage2, cant recall where I read it now but a few people mentioned that a vmax of 190mph was achievable at Bruntingthorpe due to lack of tarmac?

still need to get mine rolling roaded to find out if it has been 'tinkered' with at all!

That's about 188mph GPS then. I think it was dk who said its not possible at brunters sub 800ps as there's not enough road.

the solution to not enough road at bruntingthorpe or other sanctioned venue to reach 200 mph is more power :biggrin3:

In my Audi engined LP560-4 TT managed to hit 188mph in 800 metre on BP Ultimate 98.

I never, ever attempt any high speed on public roads with passenger and if there are any other road users around as the only risk should be to yourself, not others.

As always. 'don't roll the dice, if you cant pay the price' :bash:

A ten pack of soap is also a good back-up, forgive the pun.

cheers,
john

I found out windscreen wipers on a C5 don't come back down over 170 on the weekend  , tested on private land obviously ;)

Soon after getting it remapped I saw 195 on the speedo and it was still creeping up. I'm pretty sure a remapped C5 could reach a genuine gps 200 if there's enough straight. I tried last time I was in germany but the autobahn had too much on it :(

What are the stage 2 C6's topping out at? Must be ~210+ surely?

Mine was showing 213 on the clock, 203 on the racelogic.

Was still pulling but had to lift due to circumstances.

Problem is 6th is soo tall you need hefty power to accelerate at those speeds.

Mine shifted to 6th at about 210 on the clock, MRC gearbox and engine stage 2 maps

Mines stage 2, 770hp 1100Nm

Completely drama free run, most stable car I've ever driven at speed.

I had the same problem. Spoke to Doug - he will do a tweak on the gearbox map if people wanted it to hold the revs an extra 100rpm which is all that's needed for 5th gear to get 200. Sorted :)
