ESP Light & Engine Light on. New MAF?

Post by The_Coat » Sat Dec 12, 2015 1:47 pm

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone if able to help with an issue my car picked up yesterday.

Put my foot down coming off a round about when the ESP light came on and stayed on solid. Came up to a set of lights and it went off but came back on again when I pulled off.

After turning the car on and off again ESP was still on and also the engine light came on (both solid)

Got home and ran a scan with the below results. I've reset the codes but the ESP comes back again after around 30 seconds or when making a sharp turn. Engine light seems to come back on when turning the car on and off a few times.

I'm guessing a new MAF sensor but I've also seen online people talking about an ABS wheel sensor that could also be the issue? How easy are these to fit?

Car has been running fine and is still running ok now even with the errors on the dash.

Ill order a new MAF from TPS on Monday but anyone think it could be anything else?

Cheers

Euro car parts are doing the sensor for £116 and if you use discount code VOUCHB10 or EXTRA10 it comes to £105.
No photo of item so can't verify it is the right thing though.

Bought this just over a month ago as i had a bit of an erratic idle that i thought it would fix, so i fitted it and it made no difference so i put my one back.
Had the car serviced and they reset the fuel trims and idle problem is gone.
The sensor was £144 from audi, you can have for £100 delivered if you're interested.

New MAF fitted today, codes wiped and a 30 minute drive with no errors. Car seems to drive a lot better also.

Nice easy fix with the VCDS paying for itself once again.

Cheers all
