After posting up on here how good the AP discs are I have to report that they have warped after only 3,000 miles. Currently speaking to AP about getting them replaced, not great considering A- the costs and B - The so called motorsport materials used.

All run in carefully for 600+ miles and never tracked!

I'll keep you posted.

There's ya problem, get them tracked, heat-cycle the <beep> out of them. Probably not designed to be sat in traffic or pootling around town.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Echo'ing Bam here but being "racing" discs they really need to be used properly to prevent excess pad material building up on the surface, causing them to judder.

When my propshaft was poorly I found that my AP discs would judder if I drove the car "sensibly" (like an A6 rather than a RS6) for more than 1k miles without some heavy braking.

However, if I drive it hard for say, 10 minutes, every weekend (or even just brake 70mph to 10mph 5-6 times in a row) then the discs are fine and don't judder.

Sounds pretty much like my standard discs tbh.

Used to use the RS as a daily drive and they always felt "juddery" to the point of thinking they were knackered. Most of the driving was leisurely with a lot of stop/start!!!.

Now its purely a weekend blaster and the same discs feel completely different. Little to no judder. perhaps occasionally under light braking but plant your foot on the anchors and it stops with no complaints!!!

Sorry to drag this up from the dead, what can I say I'm a tosser of a newbie

Anyway, I'm looking at a set of these AP's. Use them on my track nova with Alcon calipers and really punish them and they're excellent.

I'm wondering, as everyone reports warping of fronts, if people hold their foot on the brakes at traffic lights and when stationary in traffic, I know most auto transmission guys will leave it in D and just hold it on the brake pedal, in my experience this alone will warp almost any disc, red hot pads in contact with a small area of the disc will cause localised heating in that part of the disc and therefore warping.

Just a side thought, anyway I'll go and find something else I can dig up!!!
