Pan roof seals

Post by R4gordini » Thu Oct 22, 2015 11:07 am

Has anyone got a b8 with a pan roof ? Mine are basically splitting and disintegrating with 8k on the clock, just wondered if anyone has tried Audi on this one.

Mine seem ok in my car(23k miles), but my first B8 had lots of squeaking from the pan roof, which Audi initially silicon greased, and then it came back, so they ended up replacing them
I did note that when I had my first service at around 7k miles on the second car, you had to pay to have the pano roof serviced too, which I didn't on the first one.
If yours is splitting, then they should have no problem just replacing all the seals under warranty

Many thanks guys for your input, I phoned my nearest dealer highland Audi and they have asked me to take the car in to them for a look on Monday. They did say that they havnt come across this before so I'll see what they say when they see it.

Just got mine back from Jack Barclay and they silicone greased the roof for me under warranty.
Great guy there Adam and the service lady Symone. Would definitely take my car back.

Smuj I checked out your white RS4 whilst I was there, awesome car brother!

When mine was serviced I did ask about the Pano roof and they basically said if there were no issues then best leave it be ..... gave the impression that it could lead to other issues.

Update on my pan roof seals disintegrating problem.
Took the car into Inverness Audi last Monday and they took photos of it. Phone call tonight to tell me that it is not an Audi /warranty problem.
There conclusion is that the cracks in the seals are caused by birds or some other outside influence ! They have also said that they have never seen or heard of this before. Am I the only one that this has happened to ?

Sorry to here of that outcome, maybe you've got to argue it stronger to get anywhere.
I'd be mega peeed off with that result

On a slight note,
We've had now a Mouse eating the electrical wires under the bonnet, Fox eating an arial and Birds eating a sunroof…what next!!
