Saw the Misano Missle coming over the Dartford Bridge tonight sat in the outside lane traffic, lane 2 is the quickest ;)

Nogsta on the A20 at the bottom of Wrotham hill near the M20, then a few mins later saw Dave again. I'd filled up the sooty and sat about in that time... get lost did we ?!?! Thought these RS's were meant to be quick

We were en-route home after the Nordshleife this weekend...long journey back, awesome time was had by all though..

Got back from Dover in a little over 4 hours thanks to Gav and Tim knowing the speed camera sites on the way up the country...thanks guys.

Off to spa next week for a few days and Le 24 Mans (via tunnel) in June. Where can I get some idea on the location of speed cameras in Belgium. I just want to 'look my best' infront of the cameras!
Incidentally, if any one has gone to Spa, via the hole in the ground, how long did it take to get to the F1 track once out the other end?

try viamichelin.com.

If you put in your start and end points it will give you a proposed route and indicate any cameras.
If you want to go a certain route the easiest way I've found is to simply break the trip up into sections, using the place you want to go through as the destination, if that makes sense (intermediate checks are called way-points usually).

I did this for a trip to southern France last week and it showed up half a dozen fixed cameras. Be aware though that Belgium like their mobile cameras.

I know France usually check speeds on the autoroute heading back to Calais from Riems, but forget which junctions it is between (its about 5 miles before the payage).

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
John.

Just looked at the date...we were actually on the way to Dover, not on the way back!

Ive had a couple of 'bad experiences' recently in Belgium - I've been stopped 2 times out of 2 on different Friday eveneings on the motorway going east from Antwerp towards Liege (cant remember the number...). This was by mobile traps with *lots* of police bikes in support who come chasing after you :( As a foreigner you have to pay cash. I dont know what they do if you havent enough cash on you......

the Belgians used to be pretty lax (and cheap if caught); the fines these times were around 70 quid for 15-20 km over and nearly 200 quid for about 30 km over the limit !!!!

Just a heads-up to take care; I personally stick to about 15km over now which is ph*****g boring.
