Do or don't.....help

Post by RS4JAMO » Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:34 pm

Hi,

My car is being dropped off tomorrow at MRC :jump_clap: for a full CC, stage 2 remap and de-flap. I am considering getting the pre-cats done as well, can anyone comment on whether this is worth doing or not and if so what impact it had on noise, performance and driveability?

I guess a full decat would be better but I am not on first name terms with my MOT tester so that would be an issue.

If anyone has had the above done in stages and therefore can comment on the difference at each stage that would be really good.

Cheers

i had mine done at the same time so can't really comment unfortunately - but enjoy it when you go to drive it home as i know exactly how crazy that drive is to see what the car 'should' be like as standard. you'll realise how slow it was before haha

Definitely do it, my car went there back in feb for a few bits, one of which was to gut the pre-cats and i really noticed the difference. While it is there having all the other bits done you may as well have the pre-cats gutted, it will improve the car further and sound even better! With CC, stage 2 map and pre-cat removal your car will be a different animal!

Do it. Precats are the worst thing on your car.
B7 RS4 saloon Misano red, comfy seats, JHM tune & JHM full exhaust with cats and resonators - gone.
C5 RS6 Avant Daytona/Cognac - gone.
981 Cayman GTS Gray/Orange.

Just wanted to agree with all the posts, went for the pre-cat gutting and glad I did, revs much smooth, different tone but not in a bad way and breathes a lot easier.....worth every penny and will pass the MOT as well!

Thanks for the advice guys! :jump_clap:

How much did all that work cost at MRC if you don't mind me asking? I want the same done to mine in the near future. Thanks.
